Data emblems are personalized graphic representations of personal information. These have gained popularity in recent years, especially on the Internet. This paper presents digital emblems specifically designed to represent individuals working in the field of diversity studies. The paper explains what information has been pivtorally encoded in the emblems, the variables operationalized, the design decisions, and possible uses of the emblems. The personalized emblems are designed according to a predefined visual system that depicts the personal background as well as information about the academic career of the individual. The contribution of the paper is not the analysis of the data but rather a discussion of the design process of the visualization. The overall goal of the project is not to rank or quantify scientists or their work, like a publimetric project would do, but to design identity. Readers are invited to reflect on how personal characteristics may affect research in the field of diversity studies.en
