Von der Arbeits- zutr Tätigkeitsgesellschaft?

Abstract

In den meisten frühindustrialisierten Ländern zeigt sich spätestens seit den 80er-Jahren die Problematik hoher Arbeitslosigkeit. Das gilt auch für die Bundesrepublik, insbesondere nach der Vereinigung. Damit ist das sozial-ökonomische Entwicklungsmodell des Fordismus und das mit ihm einhergehende Leitbild der Lohnarbeitsgesellschaft in Frage gestellt. Gleichwohl bleiben subjektive und objektive Funktionen der Erwerbsarbeit für die Individuen und die von ihnen getragenen politischen Gemeinwesen relevant. Im Beitrag werden die aktuellen Strategien zum Abbau von Arbeitslosigkeit vor dem Hintergrund der säkularen Veränderungen in der bundesdeutschen Arbeitsgesellschaft diskutiert. Welche Problemausschnitte liegen einzelnen Strategien zugrunde, und welche arbeits-, sozial- und demokratiepolitischen Implikationen sind mit ihnen verbunden? Welche Probleme müssen bedacht werden, wenn nicht nur Arbeit der Geldökonomie in Betracht gezogen werden soll, sondern das ganze Spektrum menschlicher Tätigkeiten von Männern und Frauen?

In most early industrialized countries the problem of high unemployment rates has been prevailing since the eighties. This has also been the case in the Federal Republic of Germany after unification. Consequently, the social-economic development model of fordism together with its vision of salaried society is under serious pressure. Nevertheless, subjective and objective functions of employment for individuals and political communities remain valid. This contribution discusses the actual strategies against unemployment taking into account the secular changes in the German "Arbeitsgesellschaft". What are the analytical assumptions behind the strategies and what are the implications in the realm of labour, social and democratic politics? Which problems have to be reflected if not only work in monetized economy is taken into account but also the entire spectrum of human activities, of men and women?
