dc.description.abstract | Explainer videos are valuable for learning mathematics. The influence of videos on the understanding of the function concept was investigated using a mixed methods approach. For four videos, we qualitatively reconstructed opportunities to understand the function concept. Each of the four videos was presented to 115 eighth and ninth graders. The results show that the use of all videos increased the belief of and objective understanding, and the video with the fewest opportunities created the strongest illusion of understanding (difference between belief of and objective understanding). | en |
