The implementation of an SVD based orbit correction for the electron storage ring Delta of the department of physics at the University of Dortmund is presented. Following an introduction to all relevant components for control of the beam orbit, the concept of a weighted, SVD based orbit correction theme is presented, which allows for the mathematically best possible orbit correction under the physical restraints of the available corrector strengths. It is shown how to expand this concept to arbitrary linear side conditions. Examples include the realisation of local orbit bumps while the correctors necessary for this operation are chosen automatically. By making use of the already existing system of agents , it is made possible for external programs, to access the functionality of the orbit correction program by remote control. This has been used for local orbit bumps as well as a feed-forward on a sudden, but anticipated orbit deviation known in advance. Results of this work encompass a successful stabilisation of the beam position at chosen locations and the reproducibility of the resulting corrector settings, by which it is made possible, to fix the stability of electron injection into the storage ring over the terms of weeks.
