Title: Röntgendiiffraktion an Papier und Vulkanfiber
Language (ISO): de
Abstract: Vulkanfiber ist ein umweltfreundlicher, wiederentdeckter Werkstoff.
Vulcanized fibre is an environmental friendly, rediscovered material. It is made from renewable resources, is well to process, has many desirable properties and is easy to dispose at the end of its lifecycle. Because of some similar properties vulcanized fibre is in competition with petroleum based plastics. In this thesis the structure of vulcanized fibre and the raw material paper is invesitgated using x-ray diffraction. Due to the molecular structure of cellulose, the layering of paper sheets, and possible grain direction, the material is non-isotropic. With the understanding of the microscopic structure and the macroscopic properties, the complex production process will be optimised in the future to obtain an ideal vulcanized fibre. The structure is also examined under non-ambient conditions. Furthermore the influence of additives on the vulcanized fibre and the production process is investigated.
